The Hotel eduCARE enjoys the best location: Lake Ossiach is a stone’s throw away, and the Landskron Castle is within eye-shot. Reach the city of Villach in just a short drive, and be surprised at how close Italy and Slovenia actually are.
All this makes the Hotel eduCARE the perfect homebase for many accessible and wheelchair-friendly excursions. Our team know the region and its conditions like the back of their hand and will be thrilled to help you plan some fun activities for your holiday.

Accessibility for our guests
Experience nature, spend a day at the lake, bike a few laps with your hand bike or visit Carinthia’s many sights and attractions – guests with a disability will find so many things to see and do in Carinthia that can be easily navigated by wheelchair! The Hotel eduCARE is an accessible hotel pioneer and inclusion trailblazer. Here all guests can enjoy an active, delicious and relaxing time. Ask the eduCARE team for recommendations, and feel free to share your special requests with us!
R&R can also be accessible!
As many of our guests know, not all saunas, spas or gyms can be accessed using a walker or wheelchair. At the Hotel eduCARE, though, we are particularly focused on accessibility and are certified as an accessible hotel in accordance with all standards!
Experience Villach up close
The city of Villach is always worth a visit! Accessible restaurants, sights and even a wheelchair-friendly fishing spot on the Drau guarantee a fun city trip. The Villach tourism office is also accessible and is just the place to go if you’re looking for special excursions, events and news.
Head outdoors with nature Guides
If you do not want to travel alone and would like to explore the great outdoors with an experienced companion, we recommend booking a Carinthia Nature Guide. They ensure you travel safely across the terrain, are experts in Carinthia’s unique nature and are well versed in the Alpe-Adria region – including in respect to accessibility. With your guide, you can get to know the area and its people in a fun way! A 9-seat wheelchair-accessible bus is available for excursions with the tour guides. The bus can also be booked for individual trips! The Hotel eduCARE team will be happy to assist you with your booking and can provide additional information!
Wheelchair-friendly excursions in winter
Winter sports fans are in luck – Villach has many great activities to enjoy in winter. Ski resorts are well-equipped for your needs. Some sports associations and ski schools are even dedicated to disabled sports. The Villach branch of the Carinthian Disabled Sports Association are happy to organise ski lessons for non-members.
